The history of the Fences Auctions goes back to the autumn of 1988. Both in Deauville (France), where Bernard Le Courtois and Arnaud Evain had the project to organize a foals and broodmares auction, and in Seine-et-Marne (France), where Marcel Rozier and Éric Nègre were looking for a way to valorize the potential of the clientele present at the Breeding Great Week of Fontainebleau. This common project takes shape thanks to the ideas and personal investment of each partner. Six personalities of the horse world are at the initiative of this concept. Today, there are nine of them and each one of them brings his own knowledge and know-how to a common goal, to enhance the value of the Fences Auctions. The Fences Agency has become the European reference for the sale of young sport horses. In 30 years, more than 10,000 horses have passed through Fences, including 3 individual European champions, more than 20 finalists in the Olympic Games, World Cup finals or World Equestrian Games, not to mention the many 5* performers. Since 2020, Fences offers the possibility to bid online during physical auctions and has developed a new auction in Deauville. A pioneer at the time of its creation in 1988, Fences wishes to remain so for a long time.
