Research Services

Overview

The African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA) Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Food Systems (ARUA-SFS) was established in 2018 as a partnership between the host institution – University of Pretoria (South Africa) – and collaborating partner institutions – University of Ghana (Ghana) and University of Nairobi (Kenya). The ARUA-SFS aims to harness partnerships in transdisciplinary research and innovation to drive agricultural and African food system transformation to ensure sustainable food security and nutrition in Africa. We aim to create an engaging global network of expert researchers in transdisciplinary research of Africa’s Food System. It is recognized that finding solutions to the food security and nutritional challenges in Africa is a huge and daunting task, and there are many local and internationally based organizations working in the African food and agriculture domain.
