African Institute of Technology and Innovation (AITI)

Education

Overview

African Institute of Technology and Innovation (AITI) is focused on solving the challenges caused by Africa's underdeveloped educational system by teaching tech courses to youths and walking them through the pathway to getting a quality job in tech. Even better, our solution is cost-effective and requires low internet, thereby combating the problems of expensive education and lack of access to the internet. Given the current trend in the labour market, university degrees are now insufficient to secure employment. Many graduates are underemployed as they have little or no choice than to take manual jobs for which they are overqualified. According to the World Bank, approximately 60 percent of Africa's unemployed persons are youths, and many are resorting to crime, radicalization, or the often-perilous migration journey across the globe in search of greener pastures. Technology is advancing, and 60% of available jobs will revolve around technology by 2028. Our traditional universities are limited by the number of students they can admit due to available resources. Furthermore, their syllabi are old and often unrevised, meaning they may be unable to meet future tech needs. At the African Institute of Technology and Innovation (AITI), we have created a flexible framework to address the problems that our obsolete educational system has birthed. Our solution is a technology institute with carefully curated technology courses hand-picked by our world-class tutors with tangible industry experience. We will coach the students through world-class, relevant, present, and future technology courses. It will be a one-year [accelerated] intensive program, and, at completion, students will be issued certificates. In addition, we will offer specialised career counselling to aid students and steer them in the right direction on their path to employment. Our goal is to create a cost-effective way to fix the imbalance between Africa's education and labour market needs.
