Overview

Originally launched in 2003, the Centre of Advancing Engineering Research & Innovation in Aerospace (AERIAS) is a unique, project-based training program that connects exceptional Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) engineering and business students with leading Canadian Aerospace companies who have recognized the value of the contribution of such a workforce. Some aspects that make AERIAS unique and more effective is the fact that RIADI projects are defined in advance with clear statements of work that include scope, deliverables, milestones, and definition of skills required to carry out the tasks. Evaluations and events are incorporated into the program to enhance better student participation. AERIAS provides the administrative and support structure through which such collaborative industry driven engineering projects of 4-months to 16-months (500 to 2400 hours) are conducted.
