Overview

Based in Maidenhead, Berkshire, the Adult Dyslexia Centre is a charity set up to enable adults with dyslexia, and other related Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs), achieve their potential in work, education and social settings. We also aim to develop a positive awareness of Dyslexia/ Specific Learning Difficulties in society as a whole. We offer a range of services including: - Dyslexia awareness training in the workplace A half-day for employers or employees to gain an understanding of the positive and negative impact of dyslexia in the workplace. - Assessment of employees’ needs: An appraisal of the difficulties a dyslexic employee may encounter at work and recommendations for action. This can involve a screening test, a full dyslexia assessment and Workplace Needs Assessment. - Support in the workplace: After the assessment of need, provision can be made for appropriate support. - Advice on reasonable adjustments: In-house discussion of how to provide a dyslexia friendly environment and promote a culture of confidence. As part of our core services, we also provide: - training for teachers - parents' courses - full assessments for ADULTS and CHILDREN - self-development courses and workshops for adults with dyslexia www.adc.org.uk Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Adult-Dyslexia-Centre-Thames-Valley-259044450949118/
