Our Story In 1889 in Ottoman-ruled Iraq, Mesih Iskander founded Adnan Jewellery and began trading in gold currency and precious commodities in the region and purchasing directly from gold mines for export to England. Half a century later Mohammed Iskander continued his father's work. He established Adnan Jewellery as the leading source for trading gold currency, gold bars, pearls, watches and other wholesale products earning the exclusive license to trade precious metals and gemstones in Iraq in 1955 and his eventual appointment as the Chief Value Officer in the Central Government of Iraq in 1960. The success of Adnan Jewellery propelled expansion into Kuwait (1968), Lebanon (1972), UAE (1976), and Spain, the United States, and Canada in the decades to follow with factories established in Hong Kong and in Jebel Ali Free Zone at the request of the Government of Dubai in 1996. With each strategic move, Adnan Jewellery has gained power and respect as an industry leader and a strong, family business. Today, the Iskander family continues the work of their grandfather and father with its commitment to excellence and diversification.
