Academy of Certified Portfolio Managers

Non-profit Organizations

Overview

The Academy of Certified Portfolio Managers is an independent organization fashioned and charged with the task of creating and managing a credentialed program of excellence for training discretionary portfolio managers. The collaborative and continuous learning/sharing assists in the goal of training us all to become better portfolio managers. To enable the highest level of expertise in all facets in an ever-changing and dynamic global economy. To attain the CPM® certification, ACPM members are required to complete two components of the CPM® program. First, they complete 200 hours of independent study. They then attend a week-long residential program hosted by the IEOR Department at Columbia University. The coursework includes the study of the theory and practice of asset pricing, asset management, risk management, hedge fund management, corporate finance, fixed income analysis and foreign exchange. While it is a new designation, ACPM expects the Certified Portfolio Managers(CPM)® designation to become recognized industry-wide.
