Advanced Building & Urban Design (ABUD) is consultancy firm powered by engineers, architects and researchers specialised in sustainable building and urban design. We have promoted sustainable design for more than 12 years as individuals before ABUD was established in 2012. We offer services from the conceptual planning phase to the full realisation of a project ranging from detached houses to urban concepts. In addition to designing new buildings in an environmentally-friendly way, we see a great challenge in the green refurbishment of the existing building stock. Apart from realising building- and even urban-scale projects, our team focuses on the optimisation of building skins, the barrier between the exterior and the interior environments. We use special analytic tools to evaluate energy and environmental performance of buildings and neighbourhoods not only to validate our own design projects but to offer it as service for our clients. We believe that our work not only meets the interests and aesthetic expectations of our clients but also serves the sustainable development of our environment. This belief and commitment drives us in European and global research projects where new directions and possibilities can be found. As a think tank, ABUD actively participates in the work of scientific and professional organisations that support the worldwide promotion of sustainable construction.
