Incorporated in 1988 as A.B Sealants Ltd, trading began in January 1989 with Nick Richmond selling silicones, sealants, adhesives and fixings to the double glazing sector in and around the South Coast of England. Following rapid growth, Nick’s sons Michael and Jamie joined the company. In 1995 we moved, and with the extra space available, we started to stock PVC fascia and soffit boards, window trims as well as PVC guttering and downpipes. Soon afterwards came polycarbonate roofing sheets and decorative PVC internal cladding for bathrooms and showers. With steady growth over the next few years and a few more employees, it was the arrival of the internet and online shopping that took AB Building Products to the next level. With an eye for niche products and markets, Jamie setup the company’s website offering specialist silicones, sealants and adhesives as well as PVC internal cladding and DIY spray foam kits. This was well recognised in 2007 when AB Building Products Ltd won the 'Test Valley & Hampshire Small Business of the Year Award' presented by Lawrie McMenemy. In 2009 AB Building Products moved to bigger premises, this time occupying two units. Composite Decking was added to the range. In 2023 we now offer our own brand Fire Deck cement fibre and porcelain decking solutions for trade and we're continuing to grow and supply businesses worldwide.
