Dr. Lynn Price Robbins is an historian of the colonial United States and the early republic. She is also a documentary editor who used to read George and Martha Washington’s mail, who currently reads Abraham Lincoln’s letters for a living. Isaac S. Loftus is a documentary filmmaker who is not a historian and is a self-described nerd. The two met in 2020 while working remotely on a docuseries about George Washington. As a part of that series, the two spent a lot of time talking to the nation’s top academic historians on Zoom. Those conversations inevitably stretched into hours-long tangents that they knew would not make it into the show. This podcast is inspired by those conversations, in a historians cut of the deleted scenes of history.
