100 Voices of Hope is a Philanthropic Accelerator focused on connecting community voices with local researchers at IU Simon Cancer Center in order to fund innovative breast cancer research ideas. Since 2008: - Raised more than $1.5M to fund breast cancer research - Funded 16 research ideas ("Hunches") in metastatic breast cancer at the IU Simon Cancer Center - Hunch #4 from 2011 is now a clinical trial at IU Simon Cancer Center, testing a new drug combination that could be the first effective treatment for an aggressive form of breast cancer - Winning Hunches have gone on to leverage $4.67M in federal grants to expand and validate the research made possible by initial funding - An additional 10 grants are now in the process of submission or under review - Our Hunches have resulted in 7 published articles, with 6 more articles under review for publication - IU researchers have submitted or given 13 presentations at national and local conferences related to winning Hunches
