Overview

Fid/فيد To Feed is a first of its kind project in the MENA region, pioneered by Paola Bassil, in cooperation with the UNDP Lebanon, YLP6 and DOT Lebanon. It aims to fight both hunger and pollution at the same time by providing free food to people while encouraging them to sort and recycle more. The idea was born due to the economic crisis that Lebanon went through from the beginning of 2020 to this point. The Lebanese people are struggling to put food on their tables even leading some to end their lives. Not to mention the high increase of environmental damage caused by the lack of waste management strategies. This project is taking humanitarian aid to a next level, where we are all equal: no judgment, no humiliation to anyone. It preserves human dignity and spread awareness about environmental issues, all at once. Fid/فيد To Feed competed with more than 130 projects and was able to reach the semifinals attending by that the regional pitching of the "Youth Leadership Programme" held by the UNDP. Fid/فيد To Feed was honorably selected to represent Lebanon in the "Arab Youth Innovation Exhibition" a regional event which is part of the Global Entrepreneurship Network that connects innovators, entrepreneurs and investors through programs in 170 countries. #Sort_and_Eat فروز_و_كول#
