ITS Marine Solar Boat Team is a group of researchers working towards the advancement of solar energy utilization in the field of maritime transportation. Their focus is on exploring the potential of solar-powered boats, and their findings will be showcased at a global contest. As general manager, I am responsible for the entire team's progress from a technical and non-technical perspective. METIC (Marine Technology and Innovation Club ) is a platform for Marine Engineering Department students who are interested in participating in RC Boat competitions, ship design, and other competitions in the marine field. To balance the theoretical and practical knowledge that I have learned, it is necessary to do practical work which is expected to transfer knowledge and experience from the company to students. In order to strengthen practical knowledge in the field, I did practical work at the shipyard at PT Samudra Marine Indonesia. For one month I learned the practical knowledge of ships about, 1. Hull Maintenance 2. Welding inspection and marine survey new building Barge SM-93 3. Piping Component such as, material and fittings 4. Learned about the workings of some of the existing systems on board, some of the systems I learned about are : - Cargo Oil Tank Heating system - Air Handling Unit - Cargo and stripping system - CO2 Fire Extinguisher - Oil Discharge Monitoring System (also comissioning) - Ballast System - Starting Air System 5. Hose test or also known as the impermeability test is a test that uses pressurized water sprayed onto the object to be tested through a hose that uses a nozzle. There are several objects that will be hose tested, including the forepeak tank, COT hatch, spindle above the COT, watertight door and window on the super structure.
