Financial Agent
-
Jan 2012 - Apr 2014
First Command Financial Services assists clients in their pursuit of financial security through investments, insurance and banking products and services. First Command’s history begins in the late 1950s, when United States Air Force Lt. Col. Carroll Payne worked closely with the families of several crew members killed in an aircraft accident. Saddened by the survivors’ financial difficulties, and eager to help other military families effectively prepare for their financial futures, Lt. Col. Payne began laying the groundwork for the company that would become First Command. As a Financial Agent, my responsibilities included helping others customize a comprehensive plan that addressed Occupation Specific Disability Insurance, Retirement Planning, Life Insurance Planning, Tax Strategies, College Funding, Business Entity Creation, Medical Malpractice Insurance, Student Loan Strategies, and Financial Portfolio Analysis. Recruitment Officer
-
Jul 2007 - Feb 2011
The U.S. Navy is comprised of more than 500,000 Sailors and civilians, nearly 300 ships and submarines, and more than 3,700 aircraft. Our Sailors serve on the water (aboard ships); under the water (aboard submarines); over the water (in planes and helicopters) and away from the water (ashore in the U.S. and around the world). As a Recruitment Officer for the US Navy, my job consisted of exchanging information with those interested in a military future.

Meteorologist
-
Oct 1984 - Jul 2007
What happens on the water affects us all. To understand the impact the U.S. Navy makes in our daily lives, think of the 70-80-90 rule. Seventy percent of the earth is covered by water, 80 percent of the earth's population lives near the ocean, and 90 percent of international trade travels by sea. The U.S. Navy meets threats far away, so those threats cannot harm our citizens at home. They protect and defend freedom around the world and also offer opportunities for a great career. My role as a Meteorologist included the study of the atmosphere and how its effects on the environment predict the weather. Show less
