Ed has consistently produced work of the highest standard, working across a variety of desktop and mobile apps within our tech product suite, as well as several startup projects with our partners. Ed did a particularly great job in taking a functional Alpha desktop product and working alongside our development team, created a simple yet powerful consumer mobile app experience. Thank you Ed! Looking forward to future projects with you.

Ed is a fantastic UX designer with a natural ability to understand problems, visualise solutions and execute them with precision. He is adept at seeing the true value in product offerings, and bringing that value out for the user to enjoy. Drawing on a wealth of experience in his field, he is relentless in his pursuit of perfection and will not rest until he has refined his designs to be as clear and user friendly as possible. I have worked with Ed on a number of joint freelance projects, and have always found him to be a committed, trustworthy and supportive team member. From a developer’s perspective, Ed is will to work within technical constraints with what he designs meaning he always hits client deadlines. His UX/UI design work has made a massive difference to several of our joint clients.

Mark Houchin

When we had an urgent requirement for a UX project, Ed was able to accomodate our requests, put together an organised project plan, and delivered a fantastic new interface in a short space of time. Incorporating a highly interactive, dynamic breadcrumb style navigation. He worked closely with us, and integrated easily into the development team, and made himself available whenever we had any questions regarding the project and demonstrated excellent reasoning behind his decision making.

Myself plus one of our Full Clarity product design team we're commissioned to design an interactive ‘Magic Mirror’ Augmented Reality makeup experience which enabled customers to virtually try on different make-up styles, sku's, categories and brands. We conducted user research and in-store visits which enabled us to understand and profile who the customers were. Off the back of that we created customer personas and customer journey maps plotting how the different personas feel at each stage of the customer journey across the different online and offline touch points. We captured each of the the users needs, goals, pain points, and moments that mattered. We also then did further touch screen research into other AR in store retail experiences as well as other AR mobile apps. All of this informed our UX and UI design decisions and with regular checkin with key stakeholders across the tech and business side of the organisation, it meant we were able to design an experience everything was delighted with. https://dribbble.com/shots/10073061-Augmented-Reality-mirror-retail-experience Harrods since then engaged me and our product design team for a further package of work to assist with research and UX/UI design for the new harrods.com website. My role included: User Experience design (UX) to completely re-architect and design the experience of the old Alpha mobile app and get the product ready for market. User Interface design (UI), providing styling and imagery to suit the applications. I also helped with Interaction design (IxD) and Rapid prototyping to get mockups ready for clients investment and media presentations. Show less

Working with clients such as Ofstead, Mitsubishi, and Abbey Road Studios, my role as User Experience Lead would often begin with gathering information and conducting research by spending time with both key client stakeholders as well as real users of the product questioning, listening to what they are saying and looking for insights. Taking my findings, we would typically then start to work on creating personas, before the Information Architecture work would begin where we would start to map out how the product could fit together from a global perspective (across multiple releases). Next I would start to wireframe the product starting with the most difficult areas first and working backwards. I would then typically liaise between the users, business stakeholders, and developers to help refine and improve the product further in various ways. Lastly, I would begin testing the product thoroughly to ensure it matches our designs, spec, user requirements etc before handing it over to the engineers to develop the backend of the product.Webigence started to experience substantial growth in terms of both the staff and order value. My contribution was recognised by the owner and I was promoted to the role of User Experience Lead and offered a position as a Director of the business. Show less

Full service digital agency specialising in the 3rd Sector. My role involved working on all the User Experience related elements such as the research and requirements gathering, IA, and UX design. The most notable client I worked on was "Foodbank", where we designed a bespoke multi-site system to a network of 400+ Foodbanks around the UK (quite revolutionary for 2010! ;) Full service digital agency specialising in the 3rd Sector. In the year 2000, Virgin created a social network startup... we just weren't ready for it. The platform virginstudent.com used to be the UKs largest social network, however it wasn't called a "social network" platform at the time as this term didn't exist (although it had alot of the same functionality as Facebook i.e profiles, photo albums, friending, groups and messaging etc). I worked in the Product Management team working with both the end users of the product, (the students) as well as brands such as Channel 4, Tv Licensing, KPMG, Siemens mobile, Virgin Mobile and Aquafresh wanting to market their products to the students.
