I Managed and covered the Southern Oregon Territory for Wright Medical's lower extremity orthopedic division. My primary focus was Total Ankle Arthroplasty with Wright's unique patient specific Infinity System. I also sold biologics, hardware, and soft tissue implants . Due to the size of the territory and distance between facilities in southern oregon, I had to focus my efforts on maximizing each case and and trip. My first few months with the company I was trained by the companies Arthroplasty clinical specialist that convinently live in the same town as me (Eugene) before going back for corporate training. He was a huge help and reason for my accelerated success within Total Ankle Arthroplasty. TAA is known to be the most complex and least common total joint replacement procedure. The Wright patient specific system proved that theory correct as it required rep communication between the surgeon, the patient, the MRI facility, and the hospital or surgery center. It was an awesome system but very delicate with little room for error, sterile cut jigs built off the patients MRI with no back ups provided, one dropped element could mean disaster and a bailout to their in-bone generic system . I was put in the unique situation to teach the OR staff, PA's, and surgeons how to set up, use, and bill some our products in the more rural and spread out parts of the state. This not only allowed for me to have multiple cases going at multiple different facilities at the same time but also helped me to better understand the OR dynamic. It highlighted things that I could and can do to be a better rep and an asset to to the surgeon's team pre case, in case, and post case. I loved working for Wright Medical, however with the timing of their acquisition and my desire to get back up to my family in portland, I am now right where I want to be with Steelhead Surgical. 1099 Sales Representative for ConMed/Linvatec Orthopedics and MTF biologics Southern Oregon. Fist job as a rep essentially running my own business. Had some bumps in the road early but learned how to tame the fire hose and sift through the "weeds" focusing purely on the NEED to know information and slowly built up confidence. Things were goin great in the field as I was winning sales against the big named companies and figuring out how to maneuver up and down the I5 efficiently. Bologics was a needle pusher for me as I figured out ConMeds partnership with MTF tissue bank was the strongest and most reputable part of my bag along with Hall 50 power. My time with ConMed allowed for me to sharpen my skills through trial and error and forced me to be resourceful. Show less
