Provided key support to NetApp’s Engineering organization on a budget of up to $20M/year.  Due to NetApp’s rapid growth, Engineering had never developed business continuance or disaster recovery plans. Immediately led effort to design and implement new backup and recovery system based on NetApp’s existing SnapImage and VLT technologies, protecting NetApp from critical business disruption.  As budgets tightened, developed plan to reduce IT operational costs within Engineering by creating second data center in Haifa, resulting in cost reduction of $6M/year.  Allied effort with Facilities organization by developing highly modular data center plan that reduced original cost by $4.2M and original schedule by 2 weeks.  Overcame resistance to plan from Haifa team by personally leading development and deployment of data center in Haifa. Effort dramatically improved organization’s operational efficiency and reduced costs by $10M/year.  Following EMC’s acquisition of VMware, created virtualized data center to support EMC’s key customer portal, software.emc.com.
