- Till work: processing a variety of payment methods, greeting customers, dealing with customer complaints, in a polite and professional manner. - Providing excellent customer service from behind the tills and around the shop floor, ensuring maximum customer satisfaction at all times. - Handling deliveries and aiding in getting these items out onto the shelves as quickly as possible, ensuring stock rotation takes place and the shelves are neat and tidy. - Cleaning and facing up the store at the end of each working day to ensure the store is at an exceptional standard for customers in the morning. - Handling cash, for example balancing tills, dealing with banking and the handling of the safe. - Delegating tasks to my colleagues, and ensuring they are confident in the tasks assigned to them and they remain motivated throughout. - Having the responsibility of locking up at the end of the working day, but also opening the store ahead of the working day. This requires excellent time management.

This placement was one weeks work experience at Accent. I can say that my time at Accent has been very enjoyable and I feel that through this short period of time, I have made some great connections and developed new skills. My placement involved: - Redesigning the "likes & dislikes" handout for clients. - Observing a sales meeting. - Surveying and creating a floor plan of the main office. - Attending a meeting with a client, showing the design phase of a project. - Designing my own design for a project. - Drawing up these ideas on CAD (2D) and then on SketchUp (3D). - Attending a handover meeting with a client, which a project has just been completed at.
