Western Neon was my introduction to the world of designing large-scale fabricated signs and public art. Beginning with the client's goals and budget, I created concept presentations, location plans, 3D renderings, prototypes, and engineered shop drawings. Throughout a project's life-cycle, I communicated with clients, sales staff, vendors, and fabrication/assembly teams—pivoting and reframing as necessary to ensure finished products maximized value for clients and were produced efficiently with low waste and high impact. I explored new materials and fabrication techniques to expand capabilities and market reach while maintaining a thorough knowledge of tried-and-true build approaches.

Waypoint was my first full-time design job. Working primarily with new construction in the business, retail, residential, and hospitality sectors, I developed sign location plans, message schedules, concept presentations and comprehensive wayfinding packages informed by architectural brand, site specifications and ADA regulations. In less than two years, I became the go-to designer for new and prospective clients, affording me the chance to challenge and improve my craft, deepen client partnerships, and consistently expand Waypoint’s repeat business project list.

Inventory Manager

Mar 2007 - Jan 2016
By prioritizing demands from clients, sales staff, service departments, and shipping vendors, I managed the Audi fleet at a top dealership in the most prime/expanding market for a brand that has overtaken its competitors in market share. This required monitoring the location, condition, and delivery status of up to sixty $50K+ units a week, and directing two employees in order to ensure cars got to where they were needed on time and in perfect condition. Based on my experience with the company, I instituted changes that improved communication between all departments, allowing for real-time updates that maximized efficiency and sales and minimized loss.

From building physical assets and props to rotoscoping, comping pitch documents, style frames and boards, animation, and shooting video for commercial spots, this was my 6 month crash course in motion design and digital agency work.
