    • Vice President
      • Jul 2021 - Jul 2022

As the Vice President of the Ewing English Society, I managed over 150 students divided into various teams, including Team Publications, Team PR/Marketing, Team Logistics, Team Security, Team Graphics, and Team Management. Through our collective efforts, we successfully organized almost 15 events, including creative writing workshops, art and literary exhibitions, readers and writers guild sessions, and literary talks on "The Strange" by Albert Camus, "What is Reality?" From the Allegory of the Cave to the Matrix by Plato, and guild sessions on Serial Killers and Subjective Narratives. As a result of my leadership, I developed outstanding management and leadership skills while managing a vast number of volunteers/team members, directing them thoroughly regarding the requirements and fulfilment of their duties. In addition, I also developed brilliant teamwork skills while working in groups of talented individuals to arrange sponsors, persuading known bookshops for book stalls, and setting the decor and food for the significant 3-day festival "The First Edition of Forman Literary Festival". One of our most significant accomplishments as the Vice President was successfully directing and organizing the three-day literary festival for the first time in the history of Forman Christian College University. We faced many challenges while organizing the festival but persevered and attracted a wide range of guest speakers and performers, including well-known authors, poets, and musicians. The festival was a massive success and received positive feedback from the university community, leading to our society receiving the "Most Revitalized Society" award. My experience as the Vice President of the Ewing English Society was challenging yet rewarding. I am proud of what we achieved as a team and look forward to using the skills and knowledge I gained from this experience in my future endeavours. Show less

I directed the Forman Literary Festival, the inaugural event introduced by the Ewing English Society at FCCU, bringing together writers, poets, scholars, and literary enthusiasts from Pakistan and worldwide. The festival aimed to celebrate literature and foster a love for reading and writing while promoting intellectual and artistic diversity, encouraging critical thinking, and nurturing a passion for learning. Organizing the festival came with various challenges, including managing the budget, coordinating with the Student Activities Office at FCCU, and ensuring everything ran smoothly. However, through our unwavering efforts and professional approach, we overcame these obstacles and delivered a successful 3-day event. The festival featured various events, including panel discussions, book launches, poetry readings, poster exhibitions, writing workshops, drama performances and more. It provided a platform for established and emerging writers to share their work and engage with audiences. The festival also hosted multiple book stalls and exhibitions, allowing attendees to discover new books and authors. The festival drew a wide range of participants from various institutes across Lahore, including CMH, KC, LGS, GCU, BNU, and LSE, with over 10,000 attendees, including students from FCCU. We were also honoured to have notable guests, such as Dr. Jonathan S. Addleton, Dr. Arfa Syeda Zehra, Dr. Waseem Anwar, Dr. Athar Tahir, Miss Nayab Jan, Miss Nighat Dad, Prof. Dr. Taimoor Rahman, Dr. Osama Siddique, Dr. M. Sheeraz Dasti, Dr. Farrukh Nadeem, Dr. Fatima Syeda, Dr. Douglas Trimble, and Dr. Naveed, among others. The festival received positive feedback on social media platforms, especially from our respected Rector and various institutes from Lahore and Islamabad. As a result, the festival will now be organized yearly, with improvements based on this experience. The Forman Literary Festival highlighted FCCU's commitment to promoting literature and intellectual discourse. Show less
