The focus of my research is to provide knowledge, technologies and practices which can help agriculture’s ability to deliver ways to enhance productivity without growing greenhouse gas emissions. Ruminant animals contribute significantly to the global value of agriculture with their unique ability to convert complex polysaccharides in plant cell walls into meat and milk for human consumption, making them highly valuable to the human food chain. Microbes of ruminant livestock play a key role in this process and my research has centred on the study of these important microbes. Show less
