  I joined the Governing Board as an elected parent governor as my children were attending the school and when we reconstituted the bord I moved to become a Co-opted member, serving on all committees (Finance & Premises, Human Resources and School Improvement). Durng my first full year on the board I was elected to chair the board served as chair for six years and during this time I helped set up a structure with the school leadership team that made time for a focus on longer term Strategy outside of the normal monitoring function of the board. The School leadership, staff and board worked hard over the time I was involved and managed to moved the school from a Good Oftsed rating to Outstanding in every category. Show less
