My love of driving led me to getting a job with the USPS as a Mail Carrier. I was just in time for the Christmas rush and was quite busy delivering packages to homes for the first few months of my employment there. I would deliver out of my personal vehicle, long-life vehicles or LLVs (mail trucks), and cargo vans. After the Christmas rush my duties shifted to delivering the mail and parcels of various routes in the absence of the regular mail carrier; this included finding, organizing and loading the mail of nearly a thousand stops.

Meldrum Refrigeration is my father’s business and I have helped and worked for him periodically since my early teens. Meldrum Refrigeration is a company that repairs commercial, medical, and laboratory equipment such as ultra-low -80C cascade freezers, centrifuges, lyophilizers, environmental chambers, dry-pumps, and ovens. My job experience with the company ranges from delivering equipment for him to neighboring states, assisting with customer equipment transfers, performing preventative maintenance on equipment, repairing equipment, dismantling equipment, building dry-pumps and testing their vacuum capacity, working in clean rooms, and operating forklifts

This summer job was the best decision I ever made. The company paid me to get my class B CDL with passenger endorsement, and sent me to Alaska to drive 40’ MCI coaches for cruise-liner guests. I would give tours to busloads of people and take them to many different venues. I also cleaned and performed pre-trip and post-trip inspections of these buses to make sure they were operating safely. This summer job was the best decision I ever made. I was recruited on to a summer sales team to sell door-to-door in Nebraska for 100% commission pay. It was a great opportunity to get face-to-face interaction with potential customers. The job took lots of hard work, dedication, and patience. What I learned most is how to control and maintain a positive attitude.

    • Account Creation Specialist
      • Mar 2014 - Apr 2014

Working in one of Vivint’s call centers gave me more experience interacting with customers and sales reps over the phone. As I talked on the phone I entered information into the computer system concerning our new customer and their new security system and did soft credit checks. I left account creation to become one of the sales reps for the company.
