Scott was one of the most talented developers I have worked with, a great team player and good fun to spend time with. His colleagues would always commend the code he wrote and the speed with which he delivered clever workarounds to problems we had building out the Drupal eCommerce platform for clients.

Shortly after Scott had been hired at TES by their CTO, he interviewed for his own team members and offered me the opportunity to drive the THE side of things. He instinctively knew what sort of person I was and that I would deliver, we spoke the same language and valued the same things; I'm now the Director of Engineering at THE and over the years have made a huge impact on the technical landscape and therefore the business - this recommendation might sound like it's about me but it's actually about Scott's instinct - which is a natural attribute and not something that you can teach. I would definitely work with Scott again, he's entrepreneurial and has a can-do attitude, it's fun working with him.. so you should definitely work with Scott if you can.

As the responsible party for standardizing the frontend technology of a major global fast food brand, I was tasked with leading a talented team of 12 developers and UX designers. My role involved a balanced split between hands-on and hands-off responsibilities, with a focus on the technical aspect of the project and leading the team to success. On the hands-on side, I architected and developed the deployment pipeline in AWS, which included a CI (Continuous Integration) process. This allowed for end-to-end testing on multiple platforms, ensuring that all components of the customer experience were thoroughly tested and working as intended. The hands-off aspect involved overseeing the day-to-day operations of the team and guiding their efforts to meet our shared goals. Our objective was to overhaul the customer experience for 900 in-store self-ordering kiosks located across the United Kingdom, as well as the mobile ordering application and certain sections of the KFC web experience. To achieve this, we made use of React Native Web components to create a centralized component library. This allowed us to deliver new features and improvements to the customer experience with speed, while also ensuring a high level of quality and consistency across all platforms. I believe that this 60/40 split between hands-on and hands-off responsibilities allowed me to effectively drive the project forward while also providing the necessary support and guidance to my team. By leveraging my technical expertise and leadership abilities, we were able to exceed our goals and deliver a world-class experience to KFC customers. Show less

As a key member of a team of engineers and solutions architects, I played a significant role in growing our capacity and capabilities in the areas of data (platforms, ETL, science) and integration (APIs, system modernization). My expertise in serverless architecture and experience writing lambdas were key assets in our efforts to deliver on the Catalyst Programme, a major strategic multi-year initiative across the Travelopia group.
