  Member of a four-person team responsible for writing two submissions for the Sri Lanka Campaign for Peace and Justice:• Submission to the Human Rights Council, for its 28th Regular Session, on Sri Lanka’s arbitrary detention practices against the Tamil minority• Submission on the Sri Lankan military’s land grabs of property owned by Tamil and Muslim minorities. The submission uses the framework of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights to argue that the land acquisitions are both illegal and arbitrary.

  I interned at TierraViva in Paraguay, an organisation that provides legal representation for indigenous peoples. Responsibilities included:• Conducting the primary research for a campaign to challenge the Paraguayan government and the Anglican Church over their medical negligence towards indigenous women with regard to the contraceptive coil. • This involved independently conducting a number of interviews in indigenous communities, researching medical, anthropological and legal material and writing up a final report.
