● Process incoming sick leave transactions from employer groups (EGs) included in the STDM pilot program, including sick leave transactions, return to work transactions and complicated maternity leave transactions.● Retrieve sick leave transactions from the system and prepare files, including initial eligibility review, using a designated template.● Triage cases and send to the appropriate STDM specialist.● Process sick leave waivers and fitness to work transactions and ensure STDM specialists are updated.● Initiate and monitor the EDB application process for individuals participating in the STDM pilot program, as required.● Interact with CMs to determine their specific health issue and related circumstances to provide them with the most appropriate options (e.g. EDB or other community/benefit resources).● Help CMs and EGs understand the EDB process; support CMs who need guidance with obtaining appropriate care or finding health care providers in their area.● Regularly assess and make decisions regarding the appropriate amount of medical information; contact health care providers for additional medical information, as required.● Arrange for medical assessments, as required, including forwarding appropriate questions.● Discuss information with appropriate health care providers, as necessary.● Compile all material related to the application for EDB, determine eligibility and analyze and compile a decision review summary, along with recommendations to accept or decline the application; present this to claims facilitators for decision.● Follow up on the EDB decision, process EDB approvals and letters, inform CMs and EGs of approved EDB claims and transfer claims to the claims facilitator for ongoing management.● Approve discretionary funds for medical evaluations and travel expenses up to $5,000.● Monitor trends and issues related to the EDB application process and alert appropriate internal resources for resolution.
