I am a conflict, peace and gender specialist and lead IOD PARC's peacebuilding portfolio. Thematic areas include the triple nexus, conflict mediation, links with migration, International Humanitarian Law (IHL), disarmament, resilience, UNSCR1325 (Women, Peace and Security) and conflict-transformative methods and approaches. I work with a variety of clients including UNICEF, UNRWA, various Ministries of Foreign Affairs, the African Development Bank and international NGOs. Country experience includes Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Liberia, Madagascar, Cote d’Ivoire, Benin, South Africa, Tunisia, Comoros, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Ukraine, Turkey, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, North Macedonia and Timor Leste.

My role involved working as part of a 3-person research team on a project focussing on international conflict mediation; identifying and researching case studies for the project, using specific criteria to select certain conflicts/mediation attempts/peace agreements and eliminate others; conducted quantitative and qualitative research on mediation approaches and co-authored a paper on codes of conduct for international conflict mediators which was published in a peer-reviewed academic journal.
