In addition to their creative work, Rise has spent nearly two decades dedicated to public service in the arts and culture sector, notably as Co-Director of Girls Rock Philly, a music mentoring space for girls, women, and trans and gender expansive people, from 2017-2022. As a consultant and facilitator, Riseempowers people marginalized by race, gender, sexuality, ability and economy to amplify their voices, and supports organizations to stay accountable to transnational movements for equity, access and justice.Samantha recognizes that a lasting commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is more than a policy: it is a practice. They bring valuable cross-issue experience and insight to Keychange US, focusing on relationship building, imagination, and strategic direction to the organization’s mission, vision and values. I am responsible for the entire youth services department for the Big Piney Piney Library in Sublette County, Wyoming. My immediate responsibilities included creating and facilitating programs and services for youth ages birth to 18, developing and maintaining the children’s collection, coordinating community outreach, volunteer recruitment, and press and social media for the library and establishing collaborative initiatives with local business and county agencies. I serve 400+ children from PreK-12 with monthly class and preschool visits, after school programs 4 days a week, interactive early literacy programs, community events, arts and cultural programming.
