I appreciate that one of the expectations of the post holder is to support the lead nurse/cath lab manager in the overall running of the cardiac unit. With this in mind, I believe I possess the necessary qualities to do so. I have an excellent knowledge base and good working attitude. I am flexible and I have initiative. Whilst assisting my manager, I can use my own personal leadership qualities to create and provide a pleasant, consistent and motivated working environment, by drawing on my substantial experience working in cardiology. Consequently, I have the ability to prioritise and delegate work appropriately as well.I have the ability to negotiate and undertake any delegated managerial task with energy, tolerance, enthusiasm and total commitment to get the job done. I am a diligent, dedicated, trustworthy, and hardworking individual. I have a considerable interest in teaching staff within the department. I have great satisfaction in knowing that I am educating the nurses of the future NHS and I have introduced and implemented the nurse’s competency record to aid learning, maintain standards and motivate people, as approved by my manager.Since my last successful application for a post in your department in June 2009 as a band 6 Staff Nurse, which unfortunately I could not accept due to unforeseen family circumstances, I have continued to train and further my knowledge base. I now have some managerial experience in staff recruitment including short listing, interviewing and appointment of new nursing staff. I have also gained experience assisting in the implantation of complex devices (ICD, CRT-D, and CRT-P) and electrophysiological studies, including ablation. Show less
