Ron sets the bar for phenomenal communication, partnership and management of all activities I've had the pleasure of being a part of with him. He's a great communicator in the public setting, sets a tremendous vision for the events and programs that he has engaged organizations I work for and with, and has provided partnerships that are synergetic! My company and organizations have been enthused to be a part of anything Ron heads up, because we know it's going be well-run, well-received and we're going to enjoy the tremendous benefits of the association. On top of that, he's charismatic and as positive a person as exist. He's a great partner!

Ron is a chamber professional with an attention to event detail and relationships. It was a pleasure working with him on a complex multi-day convention that included many personal touches and engagement opportunities for over 200 business people. He is a solid team player and a wonderful leader to his staff, colleagues, and volunteers.

It is an honor to serve a diverse and engaged membership as the president of the Southern Wayne County Regional Chamber. I believe effective leadership is the ability to inspire those who work within a team to be the best they can be. People want to be a part of something that has a significant impact on their community, and the Chamber of Commerce is the unique and premier organization that can provide that experience. At the time of my appointment, the organization was facing financial difficulty and a membership hungry for value. Realizing the need, I built a tremendous team of talented and dedicated professionals who are committed to the growth and development of a thriving Downriver region. Together, in partnership with our board of directors, my team and I have built an organization that provides real value to our membership of large corporations, non-profits, small businesses and government agencies through engaging programs and events, and various benefits that extend beyond our active events. After only 10 months in my role, the chamber experienced a tremendous financial turnaround, increasing net-revenue by approximately $65,000 (an increase by nearly 20% of the annual budget) and ending the year significantly in the black. Several of the Chamber's events experienced financial and attendance increase due to fresh ideas and inspirational leadership, allowing our team members to be inspired to engage the membership through new and revamped activities. The Chamber golf outing sold out for the first time in an estimated 15 years, while the Chamber's Grub Crawl was considerably redesigned to become an event focused on promoting the region and various eateries. I am also responsible for developing strong community partnerships with local elected officials, non-profits, and other community leaders. The SWCRC earned the distinguished honor of being named one of Michigan's Chamber of the Year Finalists for 2017 and 2018. Show less
