Bio
Jackson Hirst
Great Engineer with a strong can-do attitude. He's got a laid-back personality and was patient with me as I was onboarding and learning the code base. I've seen him on more than one occasion face a challenge and methodically break it down into action instead of being overwhelmed. Overall a great mentor.
Tania Tkachuk

CurbCycle provides a transparent, end-to-end solution that enables the community to be in control of better recycling outcomes. While at CurbCycle. - I have contributed great features and ideas to the table at our planning sessions and delivered to production. Such as our referral program, Where an App user can generate and share a referral link. - I have taken ownership and full responsibilities to develop and deliver web apps and dashboards working with our API, React and more recently React w/ Typescript. - I have contributed to, refactored, and written unit tests across our infrastructure, mainly React, React Native, PHP Laravel, and AWS - I have improved performance and implemented simple and robust solutions on smaller microsites writing pure CSS and customizable components instead of using unfit for purpose heavier component libraries. - I have participated in company Hackathon days and have been a keen contributor to prototyping internal tools, app games, and new features. - I have been supported and encouraged to reach my goals, working towards a leadership position where I can share knowledge and provide mentorship. - I have continued building on my current technical skills by exploring different technologies outside of our stack Show less

I was part of SSI's Ignite program and used my ability and knowledge learned over the past year to develop websites for their clients. With the main platform their clients use being WordPress. It was a great opportunity for me to grow my skills since setting foot in this industry. I got a real taste of what it was like to deliver on-time quality products and to hold myself accountable for my work. TickTok UI clone
-
Jan 2021 - Jan 2021
TikTok Ui clone.Since graduating from General Assembly I have focused on working in React and I have spent a lot of time reviewing the core concepts we were taught during the course and have strengthened those skills working on this project. Also, In this project, I implemented Firebase for my database and hosting and Material-UI for a number of simple graphics and components which were both new to me. There have been some really good takeaways from this project, in particular, I have learnt a lot about navigating the React framework and CLI's.Tech stack React hooks, Firebase, Material UI and CSS Show less

Project Manager
-
Feb 2009 - Sep 2020
Atsite clients are primarily commercial office fit-out suppliers. The company handles the transport and installation of commercial office furniture and equipment. During my 12 year employment with Atsite I progressed very well. I started out in the warehouse as a laborer for 1 year and then moved on to be a truck driver both local and interstate for the next 2 years. I then solidified my time at that company as a project manager for the remaining 9 years, gradually gaining more responsibility and handling bigger projects. My projects and responsibilities were very dynamic and for the most part, tied in closely with the construction industry. My biggest projects to date were at the Barangaroo development where I managed end-to-end outfits for multiple clients and tenants over a three-year period. I worked alongside stakeholders both on and off-site such as suppliers, building contractors, building management, unions, and work health and safety to ensure that the project ran smoothly and safely for everyone.
