    • Residential Recovery Specialist
      • Jun 2021 - Present

As a residential recovery specialist, I provide daily oversight to all young adult residents participating in both Young Adult Services programs. This includes but is not limited to the responsibilities of monitoring resident’s administering medications as scheduled, documenting resident's observed behaviors daily, provide feedback for treatment team meetings when needed, assist residents on developing daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, transportation, budgeting, personal hygiene, sex education, and so on. I work closely with a team composed of other specialists, case managers, and program coordinators to ensure there is no mishap in communication. I also utilize a variety of websites, electronic documentation systems, and Microsoft Office to complete these tasks successfully. Show less

    • Childcare Provider
      • May 2018 - Dec 2021

I was a part-time childcare provider at UMCCC and occasional substitute "teacher" if necessary. The same daycare I went to as a child, this loving work environment granted me the ability to think on my feet and get creative, especially when working with toddlers! I primarily cared for infants, but I have helped care for all our age groups (waddler/toddlers, preschool, and school age). Each day provides me with plenty of joyous rewards. Being part-time and a substitute allowed me to learn to adapt to new environments within seconds. I could start one morning leading sing-a-longs with 3 year olds and be sent to care for 4 screaming infants in the afternoon without even blinking - usually there is no time to! But I always left my shifts smiling and eager to return. Show less

    • Research Assistant
      • Jan 2021 - Apr 2021

In this research assistant position, I gained hands-on experience in research and writing to supplement my academic training in psychology. Responsibilities included 1 written article per week, with a different topic each week, and potentially turning those posts into more formal materials to better the experience of those who utilize the LIFE Intelligence app. Each article featured 7-10 credible sources retrieved primarily from scholarly databases. • Apr 2019 - Apr 2021

As a peer mentor on campus, it was my responsibility to help as many first-year students adapt to college life as smoothly as possible. I did this by visiting their First Year Experience classes with assigned topics or themes to discuss, and I was matched one-on-one to students based on our similarities and goals they have. This was one of the most awarding jobs I have ever had, especially given that I would have done this work for free! This position taught me the value of communication, of prioritizing, and managing multiple projects at once. Show less

    • Summer Intern
      • May 2019 - Aug 2019

Being an intern at RCM and assisting the Combat Rescue Helicopter technical writing team was the most intimidating job I have ever had, but I would do it all over again. At first I was responsible for reorganizing and quantifying all of the CRH chapters, until my work ethic proved to be strong enough to move me to inputting data and preparing deliveries to other RCM and Sikorsky locations. I primarily utilized Microsoft Excel in this position, having been asked to create my own datasheets and codes to log information properly. Organization, communication, and ability to work under stress were all necessary to successfully perform this job. Show less

My first job at the library was to restock the bookshelves and archive the newspapers, while also from time to time assisting patrons with computers and creating book displays. This was where I learned to organize properly, have patience, and come to work with a smile.
