    • Police Chaplain
      • Sep 2011 - Feb 2020

I have been a Lutheran Pastor since June of 1995. I began my ministry as a police chaplain as a volunteer for the Kendall County Sheriff's Office in September of 2000. I completed my Basic Chaplaincy Certification through the International Conference of Police Chaplains (ICPC) in June of 2001. In September 2001 I was promoted to Primary Chaplain and met monthly with command officers from the law enforcement agencies within Kendall County to develop a county wide chaplaincy program that would serve all 5 law enforcement agencies under the headship of the Kendall County Chiefs of Police Association. The Kendall County Chaplain Corps then developed a program that had 3 Primary Chaplains and several Associate Chaplains from around the county. I continued in that role as a Primary Chaplain until August of 2011 when I accepted a call to serve Peace Lutheran Church in St. Francis, Kansas. In September of 2011 I was appointed as police chaplain for the Cheyenne County Sheriff's Department and continue to serve in that role today. Over the course of these years I have had the opportunity to participate in additional chaplaincy training offered by the Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF). Those certifications include: Basic CISM; Advanced CISM; Group CISM; Pastoral Care I & II; Suicide Assessment, Prevention & Intervention; Crisis Intervention; and Line of Duty Death. Show less
