  When I was deployed to Chikomba and District there was no Cash for Cereals program and I advocated for it in the district. I capacitated the resilience of the local communities against food shortages and droughts I created community food security monitoring teams to give regular and up to date information on food security situations in their areas I calculated the amount of food and cash required for each Food Distribution Point per month. I supervised the day to day work of the field staff and conducted performance appraisals and mentorship I was the liaison focal point person with local government, rural district council authorities, traditional leaders and community at large. I arranged and facilitated at district workshops on food security, livelihoods and conservation issues. submitting monthly financial and progress reports of the field activities in accordance with donor requirements.(WFP) Conflict resolution among staff and among stakeholders and responding to queries and concerns raised by beneficiaries.   I conducted registrations of the farmers in the Conservation Agriculture program and drafted notification letters for meetings. I conducted routine field monitoring to collect quality data on crop situation in the district. Prepared and submitted statistics of farmers in the program, new farmers, successes, failures and recommendations. I drafted the training manuals and using them to conduct training sessions in the Conservation Farming program. Facilitated the annual farmer field days for the farmers. Provided technical and practical assistance to farmers in the Conservation Farming program Achievements, Personal qualities and skills  I hold two diplomas in (1).Horticulture and (2) Sustainable Community Development and Humanitarian Project Management. These two diplomas put me in good standing to tackle food security and humanitarian issues.  I also hold a certificate in Disaster Management which has helped me to be able to deal with community vulnerability issues and how to be prepared for disasters.  I have an in depth understanding of nutrition and food security issues in relation to humanitarian and development and this is evidenced by my work with CRS and Caritas where I was responsible for calculating the amount of food and cash required for each food and cash distribution cycle.  Show less
