    • Manager, Federal Government Affairs
      • Apr 2020 - Present

As Manager of Federal Affairs, I am part of a five person government affairs team that consults daily with members of Congress, Congressional staffers, members of the Administration, and member companies to advocate for more access to generic and biosimilar medicines, which resulted in $338 billion in savings in 2020. One of my more profound accomplishments at AAM has been doubling revenue and receiving the highest total of checks in over a decade in my first year managing the day-to-day activities of our political action committee (AAM PAC), which faced major financial and organizational hurdles upon my arrival at the trade association. At AAM, I have assisted in research that has led to the introduction of numerous bills in the 117th Congress impacting the generic pharmaceutical industry, including Medicare Part D reform, 180-day exclusivity for new generics, the inclusion of biosimilars, and the security of the U.S. pharmaceutical supply chain. I track over 200 bills that are pertinent to our industry. During my time in this role, I have used my strong composition skills to provide talking points to colleagues for numerous hearings in the House Ways & Means, E&C, and Senate HELP and Finance Committees that helped result in swift passage of the Generic and Biosimilar FDA User Fee Agreements this year. Additionally, I use these skills to compose AAM’s weekly government affairs update for a total of over 300 people, including member company representatives, outside consultants, and CEOs, which has seen an increased viewership by over 200 in the last two years alone.

As a part of the widely-renowned healthcare team at Capitol Hill Consulting Group (CHCG), I provided hundreds of hearing summaries for a number of breakthrough hearings out of the House Ways & Means, E&C, and Senate Finance and HELP Committees. As a growing firm, we were focused strongly on growth, where I contributed over 20 RFPs for potential clients, helping result in a double digit increase in the number of clients for the firm in just one year. As head LA, I assisted the healthcare consultants on major bipartisan legislative wins in Congress, including surprise billing and the introduction of innovative legislation including Medicare for All and Medicare negotiation. I worked with a wide range of clients in the healthcare industry, including the American Heart Association, the American Association of Medical Colleges, CVS, and the generic pharmaceutical assortation.
