Aug 2007 - Feb 2016
▪ Coordinated the outreach programme and guided the seven staff under my supervision. ▪ Prevented family separation for over 500 children through child abandonment by empowering their communities. Built the economic and social capacity of caregivers to be able to protect and care for their children through Parenting Training, economic empowerment and food security interventions. ▪ Facilitated the formation and registration of four community-based organisations in Libuyu community (Liyoyelo CBO), Malota (Lushomo CBO), Zecco (Tuswangane CBO) and in Ngwenya (Chuma Kweseka CBO) to help in the Family Development Process of the families. ▪ Produced monthly, quarterly, half-year and annual reports for Management, the Board and donors including SOS Norway, NORAD and the Grieg Foundation. ▪ Prepared success stories to share with the donors in order to show the impact of the project. ▪ Established and maintained partnerships with local authorities, schools and other institutions e.g., the Ministry of Agriculture was a technical lead in training and following up members. I made SOS an active member of the District AIDS Task Force, a network of organisations in the fight against HIV/AIDS. SOS clients benefitted from HIV Counselling & Testing, HIV community-wide sensitisations, Home Based Care and palliative care.▪ Promoted food security in vulnerable households through support with gardening and farming inputs (fertiliser and seed) to viable small-scale farmers on our programme. ▪ Led the team in Planning and Budgeting starting at community level and scaling up to the national level.▪ Adhered to donor regulations of both NORAD and the Grieg Foundation, whilst observing governmental and legal regulations in the country. The Grieg Project streamlined the Gender perspective into the programme by ensuring boys and girls, as well as men and women had equal educational and economic opportunities.
