Hewlett Packard is a World leading, multinational company specialising in developing and manufacturing computing, data storage, and networking hardware, designing software and delivering services for small to large business as well as home users. I was a Systems Engineer intern in a management team within StoreOnce that oversees and works towards designing and developing new and innovative storage solutions for enterprise customers. My responsibilities included, but were not limited to: - Working with development teams to ensure correct development progress - Product ownership of technological aspects of projects - Provide support for development and test teams when rolling out new software/hardware - Help to ensure project milestones are met on time. Most notably, I was involved in a new, innovative, storage backup technology, the HP StoreOnce 6500 applicance. My involvement in the StoreOnce 6500 program was, but not limited to: - Conduct proof of concept testing for storage, software and networking. - Manage & ensure progress for individual aspects of the 6500, including hardware, software and firmware. - Conduct tests to provide characterisation of bugs, providing possible methods of recovery. - Defined the manufacturing/installation process for the 6500 technology, to be followed in the factory. - Provide continued support to Manufacturing and Supply Chain up until end of internship.
