Foreword:Historically the studios distributed film content in analogue 35mm format, even though much of the content had been created in digital format for some time. The studios want to encourage exhibitors to convert to a digital standard so they can benefit from improved security, quality, anti-piracy enforcement, access to secure log files and security information and delivery efficiencies.Digital formats allow studios to also benefit from the growing popularity of 3D films. The Virtual Print Fee model was developed to encourage exhibitors to invest in new digital projection systems and network infrastructure in a reasonably short timeframe in return for a VPF each time a digital film was booked in a complex. It became the industry “defacto” standard business model for digital through a series of deals initially in North America during 2006 & 2007.UCI Digital Operations S.r.l. was the NewCo of UCI Italy Group, created specifically to manage all digital issues. - - - - -Reporting directly to CFO, Digital Finance Manager has been in charge of all finance and accounting issues related to Digital Project: i.e. managing VPFs agreements, financial statement of NewCo, cash flow analysis, annual budget and monthly forecast, reporting to the senior and Group Management.
