Niamh is a standout talent in the mobile industry. Niamh expertly filled the role of iOS developer for Novoda's engineering team for just over a year. I was particularly impressed by her ability to tackle challenges head on. Being able to delivery exceptional features whilst being under the pressure of tight deadlines is a excellent personal trait of Niamh's. And we still miss her in our office switch gaming sessions! Niamh would be an asset to any team.

My position as a Firebase GDE required several interviews in order to be accepted, and requires a commitment to sharing knowledge in the community. I travel fairly regularly to speak at events, write blog posts and host workshops, which has greatly developed both my communication and mentoring skills. Primarily focusing on iOS development, I have been working with several big clients. I am currently leading the iOS project, which involves being responsible for communicating with the client and managing the team, with 8 developers on iOS. All work has a focus on clean code and an agile way of working. Often pair programming with colleagues in different offices and countries. Regularly use TDD to ensure code is developed to the highest quality and most safe state. Experimented with Flutter, a new cross platform tool using Dart, and also helped with the setup and creation of behaviour driven testing using Cucumberish on iOS. Also heavily involved with the organisation of GDG Liverpool, which meets monthly. I also launched the new Swift Society meetup in Liverpool, and spoke on Firebase at the first event. Furthermore, I am active in the community, having spoken at the inaugural 'Get Your Code On' meetup in Chester, and teaching an iOS workshop for Women Who Code Barcelona. Show less

Working as an Android & iOS developer, using Java, Objective-C and Swift. Employ agile methodologies in all my work, as well as all development being test driven. Also use behaviour driven development, using the UI testing tools available in Android Studio and Xcode. This is particularly useful to develop with the support of the designer for the project, to ensure that the application works as expected. Worked on several apps now live on both stores. Responsible for bug fixes and maintenance on both platforms. Also responsible for beginning to introduce pair programming and clean architecture to the team. Unfortunately the entire team was made redundant in December 2016, hence the short time period in this position. Show less

Working on both Android and iOS applications, Node.js APIs, and websites using HTML and CSS with a Node.js backend. Exposed to a very agile environment which allowed me to learn the most efficient way of working in a fast paced environment. Worked on high profile apps such as NUS, Chester Zoo and Bayer on both platforms. Regularly took part in learning sessions and pair programming within the team, which allowed me to develop my techniques.
