During 2009-10 Norman and I worked together as Research Assistants in the Geophysics group at CODES / University of Tasmania. At the time I was an undergraduate and Norman was undertaking a Graduate Diploma in Geophysics focusing on imaging crustal structure using passive seismology. I had the opportunity to work with Norman both in the office and in the field which where it was clear that he has the ability to understand, exploit and explain the most technical of details as well as the bigger picture context of his work. Norman takes both a professional and a personal interest in his work which results in continued interest and enthusiasm as well as an appreciation for equipment and a willingness to pass on knowledge - skills which I believe are an asset for Norman as well as any employer.
Lyn Hogan
During the time that I worked with Norman I found him to be a very competent and diligent geologist both in the field and in the office Norman carried out the various tasks associated with field geology to a very high standard and in a timely manner. I have no problem recommending Norman for employment as a field or data base geologist.
