After months of sifting through layer after layer of those who refer to themselves as podcast experts who claim they can help you become the next Bill Simmons I finally settled on Neal to help me answer the questions I have been wanting to have answered since I bought my first podcast microphone nearly five years ago. Why Neal? Well aside from his devastatingly good looks and an english accent that gives immediate legitimacy to the American ear, it's simply because if you pay attention to the hordes of podcast consultants that exist on this dumpster fire known as LinkedIn it's easy to recognize a few things about Neal. 1. He's not full of shit. He shoots straight and he adds context in a way that few others do. 2. He's not afraid to take on the charlatans that are making his job (and thus the path of any aspiring podcaster) harder. Publishing an episode of a podcast isn't hard at all and does not give anyone the credentials to offer advice on the topic. Neal does an excellent job giving you his resume so you feel better about handing him a fistful of cash to help grow your show. 3. He's patient. I hit up Neal three months after the launch of my current show. We spoke for about an hour (for free) and he offered some helpful nuggets (again for free) and we parted ways. I then hit a crossroads where I needed more in depth analysis of my show, I contacted Neal for another (free) phone call that lead to my paying for an audit of my show which has paid dividends on it's growth. In the near future I expect to have Neal help me level up the show again. He's understands that unless you're bringing an audience to the table, this is a slow burn so he has to be patient and develop relationships with his clients. So yeah if you want your podcast to be successful, work with Neal.

I loved working with Neal- frank, straight talking and also funny with it! He did a deep dive into my podcast, illustrated what worked, provided alternative suggestions for what didn't and didn't try to upsell me at the end! I have come away with ideas for improvement, a target to aim for and a strategy on how to get there. I will definitely work with him again.

Achieved record RAJAR results for newly relaunched JACK fm Reading (previously Reading 107fm) using a highly engaging morning show, and strategically targeted online content marketing. Responsible for all of this radio brand's then available podcast content, including JACK fm Oxford's "The Sunday Roast", "Round at Sir John's with Sir John Madejski" and "JACK's Morning Glorycast". Credited with creating and implementing a strategy for social media launch ‘voice’ I also conferred with stakeholders on consistency including use of a ‘brand bible’ and style guide. Helped the brand get national press coverage, using creatively crafted content 'storylines' and written press releases. Elevated revenue and social engagement by project managing competition to win a car, live on the radio. Wrote and developed blog, vlog and social media content to the JACK fm website and social channels using Adobe Creative Suites and CMS software “Aiir”. Additionally, carried out full-time on-air role as morning show writer, producer and host from March 2014. I stayed in post for two years before being poached by the Celador group as a consultant. As a dynamic broadcaster at this London based national radio station, I not only hosted overnight talk programmes, I also maneuvered into daytime, overseeing a team of seven reporters and correspondents, and liaised with producers and technical staff in production of the station's current affairs programming, including the daily Mike Dickin show. I also co hosted the John Smith's No Nonsense Breakfast Show with Mike Parry and Alan Brazil and led dynamic hourly and half hourly news bulletins during that show. I also planned for coverage of larger events by assigning journalists using a diary system, and organised an on call system for reacting to larger stories, out of hours. Show less

I was the lead presenter for the pioneering internet and Sky Digital TV station Stormlive, owned and operated by radio veteran Bruno Brookes. During my short time at the station, I built a huge loyal audience of more than a million per month, out-performing all of the previously appointed 'celebrity ejays'. This was a fun and proud time in my career. It also marks the moment I technically 'invented' the 'podcast' in the UK, by uploading a full hour of the best bits of my show to my DJ page on the website. Show less

I joined the company's Oxygen FM radio station to help rebuild the brand, and take on its disastrous morning show, following its high profile record-breaking fine from the then Radio Authority. The audience responded positively to my 'different' approach to morning radio, which featured skits, callers and chaotic stunts on a daily basis. During my short year at the station, the rival Fox FM suffered audience instability, replacing the morning show host three times.
