Nathan was a phenomenal leader for our state’s largest NPR affiliate. He consistently modeled what it meant to be a courageous and equitable yet humble and vulnerable leader, especially during extremely challenging pandemic times. He created a very positive workplace culture that enabled staff and volunteers to bring their whole selves to their work. And he always seemingly had an innate empathic nature in our interactions that made me and others that worked with him feel more deeply connected to each him, each other our our collective mission.

Nathan was a godsend, agreeing to help on short notice as a temporary hire several weeks before the launch of a subscription-based website for the daily Pine Bluff Commercial in southeast Arkansas. Not only did he help us out of a pinch, his work reporting, writing and copy-editing content for the site and helping organize a large public records file was above expectations. He was diligent, dependable and he showed his enthusiasm for the project, often volunteering well-thought out ideas and working extra hours to make sure he got the job done right. I would not hesitate to hire Nathan again.
