Designed a flightworthy radio-controlled aircraft for the regular class SAE competition using Agile Scrum methodology. Used high-performance computing and CFD including STAR-CCM+ to validate aircraft system design and capabilities. Directed a detailed study into the benefits of winglets vs. endplates and designed an endplate using pressure map data that increased L/D by 6%. Calculated aircraft control derivatives from simulation data to ensure acceptable in-flight performance.
