      Small molecule natural products chemist, utilizing analytical chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques to identify and isolate new, bioactive compounds from mangrove endophytes and Antarctic sponges. Managed a high-throughput cultivation and screening of ~10,000 epigenetically tailored, Floridian mangrove endophyte extracts against bacterial and parasitic disease targets. Developed Mass Spectrometry (MS) based dereplication strategies for fungal endophyte extracts, including a Tandem MS- and chemical structure-based metabolite and toxin database, and a Liquid Chromatography/MS selective extraction of toxins from crude extracts. Isolated and elucidated the structures of a series of new, fully N-methylated small molecule peptides from Antarctic sponges. Isolated and elucidated the structures of new bioactive benzoxazepines from an epigenetically tailored endophyte fungus.
