Executive Director for a non profit charitable organization providing the opportunity for home ownership to the residents of Windsor-Essex, Ontario. During my time as steward to Habitat for Humanity Windsor Essex the team of employees and volunteers were able to move an organization 3 straight years in the red (2011 to 2013), back into the black achieving a 110% increase in organizational revenue with only a 10% increase in expenses (as demonstrated on public CRA records), with a 175% increase in home builds to the prior 5 year average, a 100% increase in volunteer hours, and a 200% increase in building lots which included the largest land donation in organizational history. This coincided with an expansion to all municipalities of our catchment area, and the opening of a second social enterprise retail store. With a focus on family and team, we bettered working conditions, made our appreciation of volunteers and donor recognition a part of the organizational culture, while raising wages, introducing a Wellness benefit, and an RSP program for employees. Yet most importantly, we rebooted an organization, and provided more families with the opportunities for home ownership. Show less
