Megan led a brilliant Lego Serious Play workshop for my NC State Jenkins MBA class this year. She took time to understand our course objectives (brand management) and designed the workshop around our course topics to make it meaningful for the students. Megan is a master facilitator. She has a knack for knowing when and how to get both individuals and groups moving from quiet to active and she makes sure that each and every person has an opportunity to participate and have their voice heard. I developed & facilitated a 6 week digital photography residency that mirrored the Artist Innovation Mentoring Program's goal of empowering youth to foster innovative thinking, build self-efficiency in the arts & explore creative problem solving. The students, rather artists, at the Boys & Girls Club of Wayne County embarked on an artistic & creative journey of self-discovery & creative expression. NCMA program model is an innovative approach to designing arts integration engagement. The goal of the partnership with the artist, the museum and community engagement is to empower middle-grade students through the arts, but moreover, to think like an artist & become creative problem solvers. With digital cameras in hand, students became empowered to create through their lens-- their eyes, their story, their experience. The 6 week residency culminated in a gallery walk where students transformed the classroom into their own museum. Photos & videos forthcoming. Boggy Creek Gang Camp is a summer camp for children with chronic and terminal illnesses, which is part of the organization -- Hole in the Wall Gang -- created by Paul Newman. Mr. Newman started the first camp in 1982 in Connecticut to enrich the lives of children and families dealing with chronic illnesses and to give children coping with illnesses the opportunity to just be kids.
