After 8 weeks of training, I joined the Baby supply team just before the pandemic started with a focus on supply into our online platform George.com before further developing my skills to look at instore performance for Baby Nursery and Accessory categories. During this time I was responsible for maintaining instock and customer availability, whilst reducing inventory costs. After 4 months into this role, I was given ownership of Baby Food and Baby Milk. During this period I worked alongside key baby suppliers over the Christmas period in arranging holiday closures in a way that maximised business efficiencies and saw no impact to availability both in store and online formats of the business. This work also extended to a small group of import suppliers, where we collaborated to manage increased demand on shipping containers and Chinese New Year. This required further planning outside of current process within the Baby team to mitigate the extended lead times of importing goods into our network. Show less
