I've worked with Mark for several years whilst he was the group editor on various magazine titles including Life in North Wales and A+ Education. I can honestly say that he has been a 'breath of fresh air' to work with from a commercial perspective. He has a real commercial head on him as well as being an excellent editor. He would take time to work with the advertising department to ensure that there were always lots of editorial/advertising opportunities to present to clients for the mutual benefit of the magazines' revenue. Without Mark's help, we wouldn't have been able to achieve anywhere near the revenue's we achieved over the last few years and he has been an integral part of the success of both of these magazines that I worked on. He will be missed hugely and I am very happy to recommend him to any publisher looking for a commercially minded editor and a real team player.

• Group Editor of Archant's 11 London lifestyle publications, which covered everything from the luxury market and fashion through to food and entertainment• Managed six editors and two editorial assistants, and high profile columnists including Tom Parker Bowles• Oversaw a complete design revamp of all titles• Managed budgets and made big savings over 3 years, approx. 15% YOY• Developed the digital arm of the business, the London Resident website (www.theresident.co.uk), as well as running social media sites for all the magazines• Edited titles alongside my main role, predominantly the flagship Resident title and School Report, an education magazine published 3 times a year and now one of the most profitable titles in the Archant portfolio• Worked extensively with the commercial team to draw up client proposals• Took control of the production of all titles, from developing ideas to overseeing print days Show less
