Knowledge of essential systems such as sprinklers, fire alarms and panels, extinguisher use, radios, phones, emergency generator and NOVAR lighting system.•Parking control – Customers to have access to the best and nearest parking areas on property. There must also be a clear access to the building at all times for emergency vehicles.•Promotion control – Being aware of what promotions are coming in and out, and what times and where they are located. Also enforcing the mall rules and regulations in regards to setting up and taking down.• Tenant control – Reporting and take steps to correct issues including lease lines, late openings, early closings, improper signage, excessive noise, garbage/cardboard violations. Knowing mall regulations to effectively enforce them.•Maintenance assistance – Prepared to handle emergencies at all times, during business hours the prime function of security is to protect the public from a hazard until a maintenance person can respond. During mall and off-hours major maintenance problems may require swift and sure judgment and actions by security, security is expected to help solve the problem.•Emergency response – First respondents in cases of extreme emergencies such as medical calls, fires, violence and a variety of evacuation measures. Security must be well informed of all current evacuation manual procedures and order of operations.
