      • After being made redundant in Sept 2020 due to Covid-19 and the company closing, I saw the need for charity work to help people who were shielding and so decided to pursue a lifetime passion by helping to make a difference in people’s lives and helping less fortunate people through various means. • Some of the projects I worked on until I was able to find work again: • Helped to buy supplies and cook meals for over 70 homeless people weekly for a National Sikh charity called MLSS who provide meals for the homeless in Wolverhampton. • Bought and delivered food/drinks parcels with my family to the medical staff at New Cross Hospital. We felt the need to show our appreciation for all their hard work. • Helped my family to network, design and source materials for a project at the hospital to make visors/face shields for the medical staff. • Supported several charities to deliver food parcels here in the UK and helped to fund charities to do the same in India to families affected by Covid-19. Throughout my final year of studies, I worked for JB construction to allow myself to get a head start in the industry and career I wanted to pursue. I started work as a general operative completing labour work around many different sites around the UK. I then progressed onto working alongside the main Engineer as a trainee, shadowing and gaining as much knowledge and experience as possible. Certain tasks I would assist with daily included; setting out using a TS16 station and CS20 controller, concrete leveling and testing, measuring check points and much more. Overall, I can say that this practical experience gave me a wealth of knowledge and helped towards my academic degree. Show less
